Let me tell the biggest secret to becoming successful, my friend it’s all in the routines you follow.

Like it or not we all have a routine it just looks different. Let’s take two different people. Person 1 ( as you can see his parents were too lazy to name him) wakes up every morning, grabs his phone normally with no notifications but scrolls through it for 15-20 minutes reading random nonsense as if he actually has 100s of messages to respond to. He than goes to the toilet sits another 20 minutes (depending on what he eat last night)scrolling, than a shower goes to work takes part in meaningless conversations. Barely shows any effort a work goes home relaxes. Eat his supper put on a movie and scroll until he falls asleep.

Person 2 wakes up when the alarms first goes off. He then proceeds to do some light meditation go to the toilet then do a light workout and goes to work. On his way to and back from work he reads a little on a self help book. At work he shows up giving the best everyday at his job irrespective on how he feels about it. After work he eats his supper than gets on with some personal project maybe a business. He than watch’s some entertainment and goes to bed.

Person 1 and 2 have the similar lives but their routines mean that in the long term person 2 will live a more fulfilled life.

So below I’ll list some routines you can implement to start improving your life.

Morning Routines

Wake up early

By waking up early you have more time to start your day of on the right foot. When you awake try not to scroll through your phone.

Make your bed

Yea stop rolling your eyes. Make your bed. It “sets the tone for the day”. Yes I know you heard this a thousand times but there’s a reason for that it works. Also set it properly how you do anything is how you do everything.

Journal

Now this can be done at the end or the beginning of your day. Now I’m not talking about writing about your crushes and who wants who I’m talking productive journaling. Write your tasks down for the day. Priorities your most important tasks first.Refresh on your goals.

Meditate

What I told you about rolling your eyes. Yes meditate. Get some zen in your life. Set a timer for 5 minutes and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in through you nose and out through your mouth. Take deep slow breathes. You can garish your meditation with visualising your day.

Morning routine done. Obviously make time for taking care of your hygiene if I have to write that out it might be a problem.

Workday habits

If you a employee or employer or self employed follow these steps to make your day more productive.

Eat the frog

No not literally don’t be nasty. Eat the frog means so the hardest task first. That way you have more energy to spend on them.

Batch your work

Batch similar tasks together and break your load into chunks. That would help you complete your work faster and more effectively.

Set your boundaries

When you sit down to work close out any distractions from your team or environment. This is your time to do your work first that’s the the most important thing. That’s what you get paid for. Then entertain the what you cooking for supper stories.

Take short breaks

If you sitting stand up and stretch. If you can go outside for a little. This will help recharge you batteries. If you looking at a screen look away for a minute every 20 minutes you looking at the screen.

Disconnect from work

Reflect on your work

What can you improve. What went well, what didn’t go well. How could you of made the tasks better. Also show yourself some gratitude.

Go to the gym

Go get a daily workout done. If you don’t have a gym membership do a 20 minute how workout. Try yoga if you want but just get in some daily exercise.

Family time

Spend time with your family. Simple self explanatory.

Self growth

Your project

Dedicate 1 hour everyday to a personal project. Could be a business could be foundation you want to start just dedicate 1 hour to it.

Plan the next day

Plan the following days tasks out. Reread your goals.

You time

Do something enjoyable for you like watch a movie.

Limit you screen time.

So there you go a list of routines to help you if you not sure where to start on your productivity journal. Make it fun and attainable. Add things to it and remove what doesn’t serve you. It’s all about finding something that’s going to help you grow.
